We, Tabatha and Landon, are beginning a new chapter in our life by answering God’s calling to adopt. We feel everyone is called to be a “father to the fatherless” (Psalm 58:5-6) but this takes a variety of forms and fashions. In our family, this has manifested itself into “defending the cause of orphans” (Isaiah 1:17) and we are proceeding to adopt internationally.
Help Us Bring Our Child Home!
We’re so blessed to be receiving support from our hometown in NC! The East Burke Middle School International Club held a “Soup and Salad” lunch to help raise funds while the EBMS Student Government raised money to make a donation to our adoption fund. Several students and teachers in Burke county have purchased plus1adoption wristbands and t shirts. Thank you to all those involved…we’ll forever be grateful for your serving and generous hearts!
Meet some more of our amazing family…the Wrights! They too have offered support for our adoption through prayers and financial help. We’d like to share a specific way that God chose for them to help with our adoption. We had just completed our home study and were raising money to submit the first large payment to our adoption agency. We still had a good bit to raise. One afternoon in conversation about our adoption, Landon mentioned that he went ahead and mailed our first payment to the adoption agency. I (Tabatha) replied anxiously “but we don’t have enough money in our adoption account, how did you pay off the first payment when the money isn’t there?” He simply answered, “we have enough money…Emily and Jesse donated the rest through PayPal!” My jaw hit the floor! Landon and I are continuously asking when we’re going to stop being surprised by the divine ways He works in our lives. Point is…we serve a mighty and powerful God and when He has called you to do something for His glory…He will ALWAYS provide!
We’re so grateful God blessed us with such an amazing support system of family, friends, and prayer warriors! Our siblings show us love in so many ways. The Wilsons so selflessly contribute to our adoption through prayer and financial support. Their donation alone helped us pay for the very first step of our adoption…the home study! We are so excited for our child to have such loving aunts, uncles, and cousins! We love you guys!!

We are so excited for our home inspection for the home study on Nov. 26th! Although we have a long way to go, progress is being made thanks to your prayers and support! We’re trying to be patient but we’re sooooo excited about meeting our child God has so divinely selected for us!
This update is long overdue, but we wanted to make sure to notify everyone of the results of our golf tournament fundraiser…
First of all, thank you so much to all of our amazing family and friends who came out to support us, or were “there” in spirit at the Knoxville +1 Open! Everything went so great…the golfers had a great time and the weather was perfect! God’s presence was obvious
With a total of 15 golfers and multiple supporters, we were able to raise approximately $1,000 — praise God! With the money raised from the golf tournament we will be able to pay for the home study — our hearts are overwhelmed with joy! We’re so excited that we’re one step closer to bringing our baby home!!! God is so good and he will always provide! John 14: 18 “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.”

After reading about some creative ways to raise money for adoption I have decided that if our adoption fund reaches $5,000 by Nov. 1st I will have 10 inches of my hair cut to donate to Locks of Love. Our adoption account currently has about $4,000 so we only need another $1,000 donated by Nov. 1st to complete this challenge! My talented hairdresser and friend Whitney Lovelace is ready to chop it all off!
